Round Mountain Trail Maintenance

For many years the club has "adopted" the Round Mountain trail.

The Round Mountain Trailhead is located about 12 miles west of Loveland in Big Thompson Canyon, on the south side of Highway 34 across from Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park.  Volunteers from the Loveland Mountain Club, in partnership with the City of Loveland and the U.S. Forest Service, maintain both the "Nature Trail" and the "Summit Adventure Trail".
In the Spring and Autumn, volunteers spend a rewarding and enjoyable day performing trail maintenance on both the 1 mile Nature Trail and the 4.75 mile Summit Adventure Trail. Their duties include: cleaning and clearing the drainage berms, trash pickup, removal of fallen trees on the trail, and trimming vegetation.  Tools for the Summit Trail are provided by the Forest Service, so volunteers only need to bring lunch, plenty to drink and a willingness to enjoy the work and the fellowship.
