Outdoor Activities

Loveland Mountain Club wants to get you on the trail!
Check out our Calendar to see what hikes and other activities are available.
We offer a multitude of hikes from which to choose including both long and short ones in Rocky Mountain National Park, the Big Thompson Canyon, Larimer County Parks and Open Spaces and in the Poudre Valley.  Most are 4-10 miles in range and vary in difficulty level.  Some are easy strolls for new hikers and those who want to relax on the trail.  Many are more challenging with significant elevation gain and may include off-trail (bushwhacking).  A few are very difficult, even including technical climbs.  In the winter, many are snowshoe treks and some are cross-country ski events.  Occasionally, we hold events with GPS units called Geocaches.  We even do local hikes in and around Loveland.  If you have a location or type of outdoor activity you'd like to have us do, just let us know.  We would love to have you lead one yourself.
You don't need to join right away, although we will ask you to become a member after a few hikes.  Come join us on a hike or two to see if you and we are a fit.
