We meet monthly at 7PM unless noted otherwise below.

Meeting dates are:

2010
April 5th
"History of Native Americans of the Central Rocky Mountains"  The speaker was Dr. Andrew Cowell, a professor in the Linguistics department of the University of Colorado who has a long- running interest in the Arapahos and central Rockies and their interaction with the plants and wildlifeDr. Cowell was be a lively contributor to our knowledge of those who inhabited our area long before we came on the scene
May 3rd
"Edible and Poisonous Plants"  The speaker was "Cattail" Bob Seebeck. Bob was born in northern New Jersey on a lake and fell in love with nature there while very young.  He's been involved in nature ever since.  He started teaching outdoor survival techniques in 1975.  Since then, he's broadened his subject matter to include primitive living skills, simple cabin building, wild herbs and our topic, "Edible & Poisonous Plants".  He has appeared on the Today Show, in 5280 magazine and numerous local TV shows. 
June 7th
"Loveland Skyline"  Jim Disney provided an all-encompassing presentation of the 108 mountains that are able to be seen from Loveland.  Now all we have to do is climb them all.
July 5th
Salad Supper (@ 4:30)  We will meet at Vistienz-Smith Park, 4 miles west of the Dam Store on Rt. 34 for our traditional outdoor meal.
August 2nd
"
Comanche Peak Wilderness Area The speaker will be Joe Grim.
September 13th
"Our State Parks The speaker will be from the Colorado Department of Tourism.
October 4th
"The Oregon Trail"  The speaker will be Pat Welker.
November 1st
"Geology of the Front Range"  The speaker will be Mike Tyson.
December 6th

"Trees and Yellowstone in Winter"   The speaker will be Gerard Schoenheur.
February 7th
Potluck (@6:30) & "Effects of Climate Change in the National Parks" 
March 7th 
Elections & Dues Collection

"First Aid, Safety, and CPR"  The speaker will be Susan @ TV Emergency Service.  
April 4th
"Trails in RMNP created by the CCC"   The speaker will be a Retired Archeologist yet to be named.
May 2nd
"Mountain Lions in the West"   The speaker will be Wendy Keefover.
