Roaring Creek, Poudre Canyon

LMC Calendar

This out-and-back trail climbs from the Poudre Canyon along Roaring Creek west of Rustic and features a great forest setting. The first mile is the steepest, gaining 800 feet, but this is the most scenic section with great views every time you catch your breath.  Farther up, the trail levels to a more gradual incline with forest and meadows.  At 3 miles, there is an unbridged creek crossing which may or may not be doable depending on stream flow in July.  If good, we can continue on two more miles.  This hike is rated B with 2,198' elevation gain, up to 10 miles total distance and maximum elevation of 9,900'.  8 person limit due to parking.  Contact Tom Bruch at mailto:tabruch@msn.comor call 970-405-7794.
